Job summary

Ilmor is seeking a Simulation Engineer to design and analyse engine and systems for racing and non-racing projects. You will build and evolve engine system simulations to validate hardware designs against performance targets, while advancing modelling processes and methods.

The role requires handling thermodynamic simulations, 1D engine models, and multi-physics co-simulation. Strong analytical skills, Python capability, and experience with GT-Power/GT-Suite are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Analytical thinking and solid understanding of thermodynamics and engine performance.
• Experience with 1D engine simulation tools (GT Power, GT-Suite) preferred.
• Programming experience (Python) for scripting and UDFs is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out thermodynamic simulations of engine systems; GT-Suite experience preferred.
• Build and calibrate 1D engine models to investigate performance sensitivities.
• Perform machine learning and optimization for simulation-based engine development.
• Co-simulation work with GT-Power/Converge and GT-Power/Python UDF where appropriate.
• Produce reports and presentations for peer reviews and stakeholders.
