Job summary

Ilmor seeks a Development Engineer to test, analyse and report on components and systems for racing and non-racing projects. You will devise test methods, schedule tests, collect data and ensure safe operation of the power unit.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, three years of post-graduate powertrain experience, and skills in CATIA V5, data analysis and project management. On-site work with a strong benefits package is available.

Qualifications

  • At least three years post graduate experience in powertrain development.
  • A good degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and engine systems.
  • Knowledge of combustion pressure measurements and data analysis.
  • Ability to design development components.

Responsibilities

  • Test, analyse and report on components and systems for racing and non-racing projects.
  • Devise a test methodology and liaise with Design and Simulation teams.
  • Schedule component testing with Manufacturing and Test departments.
  • Collect experimental data and ensure power unit is operated safely.
  • Post-process data, draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Model and draw components using CAD (CATIA V5).
  • Apply manufacturing knowledge to design while meeting specs.
  • Take project ownership from concept to production and seek improvements.
