Job summary

Ilmor seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design of major engine components and systems, ensuring performance, reliability and regulatory compliance. You will guide engineering teams from concept through delivery while mentoring junior designers and driving best-practice design processes.

The role requires extensive hands-on CAD work, collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and the ability to manage timing plans across design, manufacture and testing.

Qualifications

• Seven years post-graduate experience in engine design.
• A good degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• Strong understanding of engine design, manufacturing and assembly.
• Proven ability to design major engine components.
• In-depth knowledge of engine design, manufacturing and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Drive functional excellence within the engineering team.
• Lead large engineering projects from concept to delivery.
• Produce and maintain timing plans for design, manufacture and testing of components and sub-systems.
• Coach and mentor junior designers, fostering professional growth.
• Prepare written reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise results.
