Job summary

YTL UK is recruiting a Repair and Maintenance (R&M) Supply Operator to join our Network Utilities team in Taunton. You’ll perform outdoor repairs and maintenance on the water supply distribution network, helping to ensure service for 1.4 million customers.

You'll work in a two-person crew, tackling tasks from repairing burst mains and leaks to installing new connections, landscaping and general building works, while maintaining quality and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in excavation using hand tools and repairing mains.
• Experience installing new services and meters.
• Experience in pipe-laying and general building works.

What you'll do

As one of our R&M Supply Operators, you will be working in the Network Utilities team, which provides a vital service that helps to ensure we supply water to 1.4 million customers.

Dealing with different challenges every day, you'll carry out a variety of repairs and maintenance to the water supply distribution network while ensuring the work meets quality and customer service standards.

This may include excavating and repairing burst water mains and leaks, as well as making new connections, in addition to landscaping and general building works.

You will work outdoors and will operate as part of a two-person team.

What you'll need

This role will be based in Taunton, so it is best suited to candidates living in the surrounding area, but consideration will be given to those living further away.

Ideally, you will:

• have a positive and can-do attitude
• be well-organised, customer-focused and a great team player
• have experience in excavation using hand tools, installing new services and meters, pipe-laying and/or general building
• have a current Streetworks ticket and a Health and Safety certificate, although full training can be given if not
• have a valid UK driving licence.

For this role, you will need to take a flexible approach to working hours and out-of-hours working.
