Job summary

YTL UK is seeking a Construction Team Leader to oversee on-site construction activities across multiple regional sites allied to Wessex Water. You will lead operatives, manage excavations, pipe-laying, and groundwork while ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.

The role requires strong communication, site supervision training, and willingness to travel up to 90 minutes to locations in the Wessex Water region. A valid UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Construction site experience required or training provided for right candidate.
• Excellent communication skills with a positive can-do attitude.
• Act as ambassador for health, safety and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Lead operatives carrying out construction site activities (excavations, pipe-laying, plant operation, groundworks, concreting).
• Follow site management instructions to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Job description

If so, we have an exciting opportunity as a Construction Team Leader within our Civils Construction team, which provides a vital in-house design and build service that helps to ensure we construct and maintain effective water and sewerage assets for Wessex Water.

We are looking to hear from those located in Bath, Trowbridge, Poole, Dorchester and Yeovil.

What you'll do

As a Construction Team Leader you will be responsible for leading operatives carrying out construction site activities, including excavations, pipe-laying, operating plant, general groundworks and concreting.

You will do this as instructed by the site management team to ensure that all works are completed and compliant with company policies and procedures.

You will attend and participate in team briefs, safety updates and workplace communications to ensure the works are carried out safely and to the best possible standard.

You will be working within a highly performing team which works outdoors in all weathers and deals with different challenges every day, providing a vital service to our client.

You will have relevant construction site experience and have undergone relevant training for this role. If not, training can be provided for the right candidate.

Youwill have great communication skills, a positive, can-do attitude and be able to motivate and encourage our operatives to be the best they can be.

As safety is key for us, you act as an ambassador for all things health, safety and wellbeing related.

These roles are site-based and wehave (often remote) sites all around our region, so you will need to hold a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel (up to 90mins) to various locations in the WessexWater area.
