Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Development Project Manager in South Wales to lead multiple R&D projects through design, testing, and production transfer. You will coordinate Engineering, Production, Quality and Sales to ensure on-time delivery and cost-efficient rollout.

The ideal candidate will have manufacturing/engineering experience, strong CAD skills, and proven leadership. The role offers a salary of £42,000–£48,000 with opportunities for technical advancement and a health & wellbeing

Qualifications

• PM qualification such as APM, PRINCE2 or PMP.
• Experience in product development or R&D projects in manufacturing/engineering.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication, architectural detailing, and testing.
• Strong CAD literacy and ability to read drawings.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple Research and development projects, ensuring delivery against timelines, budgets, and objectives.
• Produce and maintain detailed technical files, drawings, and test evidence to support product certification, manufacturing, and client requirements.
• Work with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Sales to transfer designs into production and rollout.
• Identify opportunities for design simplification, material optimisation, and manufacturing efficiency to reduce cost and enhance performance.
• Collaborate with suppliers, fabricators and testing partners to develop new assemblies or hardware solutions.
• Monitor project risks, document design changes, and ensure robust review and approval processes.
