Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Development Project Manager in South Wales to lead multiple R&D projects, ensuring delivery within timelines and budgets. You will produce technical files, drawings, and test evidence to support certification and production transfer.

The role requires a formal PM qualification, strong CAD literacy, and proven people management, with collaboration across Engineering, Production, Quality, and Sales to optimize design and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Formal Project Management qualification (APM/PRINCE2/PMP) required.
• Experience delivering product development or R&D projects in manufacturing/engineering.
• Strong CAD literacy and ability to read technical drawings.
• Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
• Proven people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple R&D projects, ensuring delivery against timelines, budgets, and objectives.
• Produce and maintain detailed technical files, drawings, and test evidence for certification, manufacturing and client requirements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality and Sales to transfer designs into production and rollout.
• Identify opportunities for design simplification, material optimization and manufacturing efficiency.
• Collaborate with suppliers, fabricators and testing partners to develop new assemblies or hardware solutions.
• Monitor project risks, document design changes, and ensure robust review and approval processes.
