Job summary

Bioquell, an Ecolab Company, is recruiting a microbiologist for its Andover site to join the R&D team and drive development of new microbiology-based products. The role involves laboratory work, developing protocols, and transitioning processes to production with close collaboration with manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Degree in microbiology or closely related subject.
• Ability to communicate complex scientific information to non-scientists.
• Recent hands-on laboratory experience including: basic microbiological methods like cultures propagation, pH measurement, media preparation and quality assessment.
• Microscopy and identification to species level; aseptic techniques.
• Knowledge of GLP; total viable counts; serial dilutions; computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Key to new product development, giving exciting opportunities.
• Investigating various published protocols to develop a research plan.
• Laboratory-based investigation of existing, modified and novel protocols for the production and testing of biological products.
• Assessing the performance of different production methods.
• Creating full auditable validation documentation.
• Providing technical guidance on the product ionisation of a new product range.
