Job summary

Convatec is seeking a Team Lead - Microbiology to steer a high-performing microbiology laboratory in support of product innovation and quality. You will lead a team of scientists, drive method development and validation, and ensure compliance with GLP/GMP standards while partnering with R&D, Quality and EHS to deliver critical projects.

The role combines technical leadership, strategic planning and hands-on laboratory oversight, with opportunities to shape the future R&D hub as Convatec

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related field.
• Experience in regulated lab environments and GMP/GLP quality standards.
• Proven leadership of scientific teams.
• Strong written/verbal communication and SOP documentation.
• Experience with method development and validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the microbiology laboratory.
• Coach, develop and mentor a team of microbiology scientists and staff.
• Plan resources and testing schedules to deliver projects on time.
• Provide technical direction and SME guidance across R&D activities.
• Support development, validation and improvement of microbiological methods.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable product development and claims.
• Lead CAPAs, investigations and root-cause analysis for deviations.
• Oversee IQ/OQ/PQ, calibration programs and software validation.
