Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking a Quarry Process Operator to join the Operations and Maintenance team at Hope Cement Works in Derbyshire. The role is permanent and full time with shift work, including some weekends.

You will operate heavy machinery, load materials, and support processing systems while maintaining high safety and environmental standards. A background in quarrying and relevant qualifications is essential.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (Maths and English) at grade C or above.
• Experience operating wheeled loader or 360 excavator in quarry settings.
• NVQ Level 2 or MPQC qualification in truck, excavator and loader operations.
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to HSE standards.
• Operational experience in quarrying.

Responsibilities

• Operate to high health, safety and environmental standards.
• Load at the face with a wheeled loader or 360 excavator.
• Haul materials from the quarry face to the crusher.
• Operate the processing systems.
• Perform first line maintenance and housekeeping duties.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of safety standards.

Quarry Process Operator

Location: Hope Cement Works, Derbyshire

Description

An exciting opportunity for a flexible, self-motivated and positive individual to work as a member of the Quarry Production team at Hope Cement Works. Shift working will be a requirement of the job role, including some weekend work.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating to high health, safety and environmental standards.
• Loading at the face with either a wheeled loader or 360 excavator.
• Hauling materials from the quarry face to the crusher.
• Operation of the processing systems.
• First line maintenance and housekeeping duties.

Health and Safety is the number one priority in all aspects of our quarrying operations and the successful candidate will be required to contribute and assist with the continuous improvement of safety standards.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• GCSE grade C (or equivalent) or above, Maths and English
• Operation of wheeled loader or 360 excavator in quarry applications, ADT & rigid truck operation or processing plant experience
• NVQ level 2 or MPQC qualified in truck, excavator and loader operations
• Excellent safety awareness
• Operational experience in quarrying
