Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking a Quarry Operative to join Dowlow Quarry & Asphalt Plant near Buxton. The role requires shift work, including weekends, and operating within the Quarry Production team under a strong health and safety regime.

You will load materials with a wheeled loader or 360 excavator, haul to the crusher, run processing systems and carry out basic maintenance while maintaining high safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Operation of wheeled loader or 360 excavator in quarry applications; ADT or rigid trucks or processing plant experience.
• NVQ Level 2 or MPQC qualification in truck, excavator and loader operations.
• Excellent safety awareness.
• Operational experience in quarrying.

Responsibilities

Location: Dowlow Quarry & Asphalt Plant, Buxton

Description

An exciting opportunity for a flexible, self-motivated and positive individual to work as a member of the Quarry Production team at Dowlow Quarry. Shift working will be a requirement of the job role, including some weekend work.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading at the face with either a wheeled loader or 360 excavator.
• Hauling materials from the quarry face to the crusher.
• Operation of the processing systems.
• First line maintenance and housekeeping duties.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• GCSE grade C (or equivalent) or above, Maths and English
