Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking a Quarry Operative at Freemans Quarry, Bristol, to join the Operations and Maintenance team. You will report to the Quarry Manager and contribute to safe, efficient quarry operations on a permanent, full-time basis.

You will perform pre-start checks, operate mobile plant, and uphold safety, environmental and quality standards while supporting maintenance activities and broader site goals.

Qualifications

• Hold a current driving licence.
• Heavy mobile plant licence preferred, training can be provided.
• Be self-motivated with the ability to work alone or in a team.
• Be a good communicator and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the quarry site to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Follow health, safety, environmental and quality procedures, promoting a strong safety culture.
• Wear and use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Carry out pre-start checks and daily inspections on mobile plant and equipment.
• Complete inspection records accurately and report defects to site management promptly.
• Support planned and reactive maintenance activities, working with the maintenance team.
• Operate quarry mobile plant and equipment safely and effectively, in line with training and authorisation.
• Work collaboratively with the quarry team and undertake other duties to help achieve site objectives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of site performance, safety and operational standards.
