Job summary

OQC seeks a Quantum Software Engineer in London to transform research prototypes into robust production software. You’ll work across quantum and classical stacks, building reusable components and ensuring reliable deployment from circuit compilation to QPU execution.

You’ll collaborate with algorithms, platform and infrastructure teams, applying strong engineering practices and contributing to scalable quantum computing applications.

Qualifications

• Experience building production-quality quantum software.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, code review, version control, and Agile/Scrum.
• Understanding of quantum computing concepts, circuits and transpilation.
• Ability to translate algorithms into production components and workflows.
• Bridge between quantum and classical software stacks.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving across complex stacks.
• Excellent communication with technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build production-quality quantum software components and reusable functions.
• Translate quantum algorithms into robust, tested production software.
• Integrate quantum workloads with APIs, containers, Kubeflow workflows and data services.
• Diagnose issues across the full execution path from Python to QPU execution.
• Shape designs for quantum execution workflows and runtime integration.
• Apply strong software engineering practices across testing, CI/CD, documentation and version control.
• Collaborate with Quantum Algorithms, Platform, Infrastructure and Applications teams.
