Job summary

OQC is seeking a Quantum Engineer within the QEC Hardware Development team to advance hardware required for practical quantum error correction at the QPU level. The role combines hands-on experimental physics, software tooling and processor characterisation to bring up novel devices and understand their control, cryogenic and signal-delivery needs.

You'll own research projects end-to-end—from experiment design to data analysis and reporting—while collaborating with engineers and scientists

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a physical or engineering discipline and hands-on research.
  • Experience delivering research projects from design to results and reporting.
  • Strong Python skills for automation, data analysis and tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Develop experimental measurement methods to characterise quantum error-correction components and subroutines.
  • Bring up, calibrate and evaluate novel research devices in unconventional regimes.
  • Develop and maintain experimental-control software, data-analysis workflows and visualisations.
  • Build system-level understanding of control electronics, cryogenic infrastructure and signal-delivery stacks.
  • Prepare and install proof-of-concept QPU devices with lab teams for readiness.
  • Own projects from design through analysis, documentation and recommendations.
