Job summary

QinetiQ is seeking a Quantum Engineer in Malvern to develop and apply cutting‑edge quantum technologies across sensing, navigation or computing, delivering solutions from concept to implementation within multidisciplinary teams.

You will perform quantum and systems engineering activities, produce technical documentation, manage risks, and may lead small teams. The role requires collaboration across disciplines and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

Experience in quantum engineering with focus on sensing, navigation or computing.
Ability to develop technical documentation including requirements, specifications and plans.
Experience applying systems engineering processes across the lifecycle.
Ability to communicate technical information effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Deliver quantum engineering activities and work packages in line with project objectives.
Lead small technical teams and coordinate outputs.
Produce high‑quality technical documentation, reports, plans and specifications.
Apply systems engineering principles throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify, assess and escalate technical risks and dependencies.
Support technical decision‑making through analysis, modelling and engineering evidence.
