Job summary

IWS Mechanical & Electrical in the United Kingdom seeks a Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial management on major water projects. The role is hybrid with a Walsall base and travel to project sites, reporting to the Senior QS and coordinating with managers and subcontractors.

You will prepare budgets, CVRs and final accounts, manage cost tracking and variations, and participate in client meetings. The position offers a contributory pension, car allowance, and diverse project exposure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC/HND in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with QS experience.
• Knowledge of NEC3/4 and JCT contracts.
• Experience in utilities/civil sector, preferably water.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management and contract administration including review of contract terms before quotations.
• Lead the production of budgets, forecasts and monthly CVRs with risks and opportunities.
• Prepare monthly valuation applications and final accounts.
• Assist with cost management, tracking and contract variations.
• Attend client meetings and negotiate terms when needed.
• Support tendering of large projects and implement reporting systems.
