Job summary

OCU is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to drive the commercial delivery of a major electrical infrastructure framework. You will own commercial activities across multiple projects, collaborating with clients and suppliers to ensure successful delivery and strong commercial performance.

This role offers genuine autonomy, a varied workload across framework projects, and opportunities to build long-term relationships with key stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in utilities or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration.
• Experience managing variations, claims and commercial negotiations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
• Ability to negotiate effectively and influence outcomes.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of utility and electrical infrastructure projects across the framework.
• Prepare and return accurate quotations within agreed timescales.
• Audit subcontractor applications and claims, ensuring accuracy and contractual compliance.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and operational teams.
• Manage contract variations, claims, and dispute resolution activities.
• Prepare applications for payment, invoices, and supporting commercial submissions.
• Monitor project costs and commercial performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Support operational teams with pricing, commercial advice, and contract administration throughout project delivery.
