OCU Group in Greenwich is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities across a major electrical infrastructure framework. You will work closely with operational teams, clients, and supply chain partners to ensure successful project delivery and strong commercial performance.

The role offers autonomy and responsibility across a varied workload, with opportunities to develop long-term relationships with key stakeholders within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within utilities, infrastructure, power, civil engineering, or construction environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration principles.
  • Experience managing variations, claims, and commercial negotiations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and influence commercial outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial aspects of utility and electrical infrastructure projects across the framework.
  • Prepare and return accurate quotations within agreed timescales.
  • Audit subcontractor applications and claims, ensuring accuracy and contractual compliance.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and operational teams.
  • Manage contract variations, claims, and dispute resolution activities.
  • Prepare applications for payment, invoices, and supporting commercial submissions.
  • Monitor project costs and commercial performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Support operational teams with pricing, commercial advice, and contract administration throughout project delivery.

Join OCU and play a key role in the commercial delivery of a major electrical infrastructure framework supporting critical works across the power network. As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll take ownership of commercial activities across a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with operational teams, clients, and supply chain partners to ensure successful project delivery and strong commercial performance. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated team where you'll have genuine autonomy and responsibility, managing a varied workload across framework projects while developing long-term relationships with key stakeholders. What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

  • Bonus if you have experience working within long-term framework contracts.
  • It would be great if you hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
  • It would be great if you are a member of, or working towards membership of, RICS, CIOB, or a similar professional body.
  • Experience using commercial management systems and collaborative project delivery platforms would be advantageous.
