Job summary

Fortem Solutions is seeking a driven Quantity Surveyor to join our Orbit Housing contract on site in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will report to the Commercial Manager and work with a team of 10, supervising junior members and delivering on planned works for social housing upgrades.

The role covers cost control, reporting, and commercial negotiations across projects valued from £1–15 million, including re-roofing, kitchen and bathroom replacements, and window/door upgrades.

Qualifications

• Previous Quantity Surveying experience.
• QS degree or relevant experience will be considered.
• Excellent IT knowledge including Excel with V-Lookup, Pivot tables and formula development.
• Full UK driving licence for travel to working site locations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the company secures its full entitlement within the parameters of the Contract and further commercial negotiations.
• Ensure the project team achieve or exceed budgeted targets.
• Responsible for the application schedule of rates (NHF SOR’s) acting as a SME for contractual arrangements.
• Maximise cash flow through monthly invoicing and resolving client queries.
• Monitoring and analysis of management information and job cost against revenue supporting decisions.
• Support the Commercial Manager with CVRs, CVCs and management accounts and governance of budgets.
• Ensure reporting is accurate.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to obtain value for money from the supply chain.
• Manage existing supply chain and local suppliers using IT systems including Excel and Connect.
