Job summary

Thorn Baker Construction is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the Sizewell C project in Suffolk on a temporary contract. The role offers a competitive daily rate of £300-£350 and the chance to contribute to a nationally significant infrastructure programme.

You will manage costs from inception through to final accounts, handle valuations and payments, and oversee subcontractor packages, pricing variations, and commercial risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Previous Quantity Surveying experience within construction.
• Strong understanding of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
• Excellent commercial and contractual awareness.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Managing project costs from inception through to completion.
• Preparing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Managing subcontractor packages and payments.
• Assessing and pricing variations.
• Identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
• Supporting project teams to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
