Job summary

Civil Works Alliance is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support Sizewell C, delivering commercial governance and contract administration across a £200m/year expenditure base. You will work with the ASTOC Commercial Lead and senior QS to ensure robust controls and timely, accurate reporting.

The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, major infrastructure environment.

Qualifications

• Understanding of commercial management principles and contract administration.
• Knowledge of governance, compliance, and audit requirements within major project environments.
• Awareness of delegated authority frameworks and approval processes.
• Understanding of financial controls and commercial reporting processes.
• Experience in a Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role.
• Experience supporting contract administration and governance activities.
• Experience in large-scale project, infrastructure, utilities, or construction environments.
• Competence in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP and workflow systems such as SAP and Unifier.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to analyse information and identify inconsistencies or risks.
• Proven ability to work independently while contributing in a team.

Responsibilities

• Managing and administering Professional Services Contracts (PSCs), including mobilisations, amendments, extensions, and close-out activities.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records, documentation, and contractual information in line with governance requirements.
• Supporting compliance with delegated authority frameworks, commercial procedures and governance controls.
• Coordinating Contract Request Forms (CRFs), approvals, and delegated authority processes.
• Assisting with IR35 compliance assessments and associated insurance activities.
• Administering commercial workflows within SAP and Unifier systems, ensuring data integrity and timely processing.
• Producing governance reports, management information, and commercial performance metrics.
• Supporting internal and external audit requirements and maintaining audit trails.
• Building and maintaining effective working relationships with Commercial, Finance, Delivery, and Functional teams.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and enhanced operational efficiency.
