Job summary

Emponics in the UK is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Capital works division, based in Cheltenham with possible Bristol ties. You will actively tender, estimate and measure onsite for planned refurbishment contracts, ensuring cost effectiveness and timely delivery across council projects.

You will manage cost value reconciliations, identify risks and opportunities, and work closely with the Contracts Manager to align productivity targets and milestones.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar quantity surveying role.
• Experience managing values up to £3 million.
• Strong tendering, estimating and cost control skills.
• Experience with COINS and commercial administration.

My client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join them on their Capital (Planned Works/ Refurbishment) contracts in Cheltenham and the South Cotswolds.

• They are one of the UK's largest privately-owned property services companies with offices UK wide . A leader and pioneer in its field, they are at the forefront of delivering innovative planned and responsive services to the built environment.

Great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join its established Capital (planned and refurbishment based contracts works) business (inc Kitchen, Bathroom , Fire Risk ) based out of their Cheltenham Capital Unit. There is also a possibility that you could be based in their Bristol Emersons Green office if that works better for you .

• The role will be overseeing contracts with Cheltenham Borough Council and Stroud District Council (K&B refurbs, decarbonisation, external works) - experience in / an understanding of the occupied properties/refurb world would be ideal, but the ability to quickly get to grips with the nuances of this sector is essential.
• Typical you will be out at customers a large proportion of the week . Jobs are tendering / estimating so can be typically smaller value ( relatively ) but high volume along with one off bigger projects .
• Their Quantity Surveyors value the breadth of their roles, the fact that they're not silo-ed but have a view of both commercial and operational sides of the business. This collaboration between teams gives them a real opportunity to make an impact on their stable, long-running contracts with Cheltenham Borough Council and Stroud District Council.

£59,058 inclusive of car allowance

The Quantity Surveyor role:

As a Quantity Surveyor within their Capital works division, you will actively tender, estimate and measure onsite. Specifically, you will:

Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any risks and solutions for mitigating these.

Prepare budget cost value reconciliations, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning from the beginning.

Work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity targets and contract milestones are agreed and issued before contract start, including direct labour incentives.

Build strong client and supplier relations, to ensure any variations and the progress of contracts are discussed and resolved proactively.

Take purchase, credit and debtor responsibility using COINS to achieve expected cash flow.

Complete and analyse weekly reporting from site has adequate cost information (including labour rates and performance exceptional to budget, value, progress, quality, and safety)

Produce monthly contract valuations.
