Job summary

Howells Solutions Limited in Birmingham is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery on social housing planned maintenance and decarbonisation projects. You will manage costs, cash flow and contractor procurement to meet deadlines and budget.

The role requires degree or equivalent, proven experience with a main contractor, strong negotiation and client relationship skills, and knowledge of CVR and supply chain management.

Qualifications

• Degree or other technical qualification.
• Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Proven track record delivering contracts on time and within budget.
• Contractual awareness.
• Negotiating, communication & presentation skills.
• Knowledge of Supply Chain management.
• RICS / CIOB qualification - Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Control all expenditure.
• Reconcile cost/value reports & profit forecasts.
• On-boarding of Sub contractors/suppliers.
• Ensuring value for money & financial assessments.
• Manage day to day cost control & monitoring & reporting.
• Process Sub contractor payments via application & invoice.
• Attend project & company related meetings.
• Ensure timely cash flow management.
• Maintain & develop professional relationships with clients & customers.

Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing - Planned Maintenance

We are working with a leading Social Housing contractor to recruit an experienced and successful Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the West Midlands to deliver Planned Maintenance and Decarbonisation works.

We are looking for a proven commercial professional with experience in social housing refurbishment programmes, ideally with knowledge of decarbonisation schemes and a comprehensive commercial understanding of subcontractor procurement and cost management, the CVR process as well as excellent client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Control all expenditure
