Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Norwich is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to drive the commercial performance on major housing, NHS and MOD projects. You will take ownership from award through final account and collaborate with Contracts Managers to keep projects financially on track.

The role covers cost control, valuations, client valuations, variations, and reporting to senior management, with a strong emphasis on building client and supplier relationships and managing subcontractor accounts.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, refurbishment, maintenance or a related sector.
• A strong understanding of cost control, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Experience working with JCT and/or NEC contracts.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• The confidence to challenge, influence and build relationships across all levels.
• A desire to be part of a collaborative team where everyone pulls in the same direction.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of the commercial performance of multiple projects from award through to final account.
• Working closely with Contracts Managers and operational teams to keep projects on track financially.
• Preparing and managing applications for payment and client valuations.
• Pricing and negotiating variations and additional works.
• Monitoring project costs, forecasts and profitability.
• Managing subcontractor accounts and payment processes.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities before they become problems.
• Producing accurate financial reporting and forecasts for senior management.
• Building positive relationships with clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
