Job summary

Thorn Baker Construction is seeking a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on allocated construction projects across the South West and Midlands. You will work with the project delivery team to ensure projects meet budgets, programmes and commercial objectives.

Ideal candidates will bring main contractor experience, strong cost reporting, and a collaborative approach. The role offers a supportive environment with opportunities for development and career progression

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
• Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain relationships.
• Good understanding of cost reporting, forecasting and financial control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee commercial management of allocated construction projects.
• Manage budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
• Prepare CVRs, cost reports and cost-to-complete forecasts.
• Procure and manage subcontractor packages and payments.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and suppliers to maintain relationships.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
