Job summary

RG Setsquare, a well-established Bristol-based contractor, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on a varied portfolio of projects from £500k to £3m, including refurbishments and fit-outs. The role covers pre-construction through to final account, with a focus on maximising financial performance and maintaining strong client relationships.

Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established building and refurbishment contractor who delivers a range of projects locally to Bristol.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects including dilapidations, commercial refurbishments, industrial developments, and office fit-outs, with project values ranging from £500k to £3m.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring financial performance is maximised whilst maintaining strong client relationships.

• Managing project costs and budgets
• Procurement and subcontractor management
• Preparing and submitting valuations
• Variations and change management
• Cost reporting and forecasting
• Contract administration
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
• Supporting project delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, fit-out or refurbishment sectors
• Experience delivering projects valued between £500k and £3m
• Strong understanding of commercial contracts and construction processes
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• A proactive and commercially focused approach
• Degree qualified or equivalent (desirable)
