Job summary

Sphere Solutions Ltd in Bristol is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction contractor delivering projects across the Southwest. You will oversee cost management, valuations, forecasting and commercial reporting on multiple live schemes.

You'll support pre-construction and tender activities, manage WIP, budgets and contracts, and work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and site teams to drive value and deliver projects safely and commercially.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in UK construction.
• Strong cost and commercial management on projects up to £15m.
• Able to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environment.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within Southwest.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and prepare quantity and cost requirements.
• Manage valuations, forecasting and cost control across live projects.
• Provide commercial support to site managers and project teams.
• Support pre-construction and tender activities incl. estimating and pricing.
• Manage WIP and maintain up-to-date financial information.
• Prepare commercial reports, budgets and risk assessments.
• Monitor design changes and update budgets.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Visit Southwest project sites as required.

Salary: Competitive Salary + Package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established and growing construction contractor in Bristol. The company delivers a diverse range of construction and refurbishment projects across the Southwest, with project values ranging from £50k to £13.5m.

The successful candidate will work across a number of live projects, providing commercial support to site teams and taking responsibility for cost management, valuations, forecasting, estimating and commercial reporting. This is a varied role suited to a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working across different projects and collaborating closely with clients, consultants, contractors and subcontractors.

What you’ll be doing

• Reviewing construction plans and preparing detailed quantity and cost requirements
• Managing the commercial aspects of multiple live projects, including valuations, forecasting and cost control
• Providing commercial support to site managers and project teams
• Supporting pre-construction and tender activities, including estimating, labour loading and pricing
• Managing WIP and ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial information is available
• Preparing commercial reports, budgets, risk assessments, contracts and cost analysis
• Monitoring design changes and updating project budgets accordingly
• Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered commercially and effectively
• Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Visiting project sites across the Southwest as required

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the UK construction industry
• Strong experience in cost and commercial management on projects up to £15m
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the Southwest
• Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management is desirable
