Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for facade remediation projects in Leicester. The role is contract-based with a day rate of £400–£450, with potential to convert to permanent based on fit and performance.

The successful candidate will take full commercial responsibility for remediation schemes, manage trade packages, cost reporting and accounts from pre-construction to final account settlement, based from both office and site locations in Leicester.

POSITION OVERVIEW

A specialist facade remediation contractor is looking for a versatile Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Leicester.

This role is available on a contract basis paying £400 to £450 per day, with the openness to transition into a permanent position depending on fit and experience. Designed for a commercial specialist with a solid Main Contractor background, you will take full commercial responsibility for assigned remediation schemes, managing trade packages, cost reporting, and accounts from pre-construction through to final account settlement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handle full commercial management of facade, cladding, and external remediation packages.
• Procure trade subcontracts, analyze tenders, and negotiate terms.
• Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and cash flow forecasts.
• Manage interim valuations, applications for payment, and payment notices.
• Administer variation accounts and assess scope changes accurately.
• Agree final accounts with both trade subcontractors and main contractor clients.
• Work closely with project managers and site teams to mitigate commercial risks.

REQUIREMENTS

• Main Contractor Background: Solid experience working directly for a Main Contractor or Major Subcontractor.
• All-Rounder QS Toolkit: Proven hands-on capability across procurement, CVRs, variations, and final accounts.
• Package Knowledge: Experience with facades, cladding, drylining, or structural remediation is beneficial, but core main contracting QS skills are primary.
• Location: Able to work from office and site bases in and around Leicester.
• Licence: Full UK driving licence.
