Job summary

S Guest Consultancy Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team in a full-time, office-based role with regular travel across sites. You will handle cost planning, tender submissions and financial management throughout live projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a similar role, construction sector experience, strong numerical and communication skills, and a full UK driving licence. A competitive salary package is on offer.

Qualifications

  • Around 5+ years’ experience in a similar Estimator or Quantitiy Surveyor role.
  • Background within construction (main contractor experience desirable).
  • Relevant qualifications (HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent in Construction or QS).
  • Strong numerical and commercial skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to liaise across teams and stakeholders.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Review tender opportunities and assess project requirements.
  • Support preparation and submission of competitive tenders.
  • Identify risks, opportunities and key commercial considerations at bid stage.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and evaluate pricing.
  • Build accurate cost plans and submit tenders within deadlines.
  • Attend internal and external meetings to support bid and project decisions.
  • Manage project costs, valuations and financial reporting throughout delivery.
  • Prepare cash flow projections and track project performance.
  • Oversee subcontractor accounts, including payments and variations.
  • Carry out site visits and work with operational teams.
  • Monitor changes to scope and ensure variations are valued.
  • Support final account negotiations and project close‑out.
  • Contribute to regular commercial reviews and procurement discussions.

Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

Location: South Staffs (office-based with regular travel)

Position: Full-time

We're working with a growing construction contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team. This is a varied role offering involvement across both tendering and live project delivery.

About the Role

You’ll work closely with the commercial leadership team, taking ownership of cost planning, tender submissions, and financial management of projects. The role will suit someone who enjoys a mix of office-based estimating and hands‑on project commercial involvement.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Reviewing incoming tender opportunities and assessing project requirements
