Job summary

Henley Chase is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team in Cambridge. You will play a key role in managing the commercial performance of construction and fit-out projects from pre-construction to final account.

The successful candidate will have previous Quantity Surveying experience, a strong knowledge of cost control, and excellent communication skills. The position offers competitive salary and benefits, along with career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous Quantity Surveying experience within construction, commercial fit-out or interiors.
• Strong knowledge of cost control and subcontract procurement.
• Good understanding of UK construction contracts.

Quantity Surveyor

Location: Cambridge
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, DOE

An established commercial design and build contractor is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team. You'll play a key role in managing the commercial performance of construction and fit-out projects from pre‑construction through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project costs, budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Price and manage variations and change control.
• Procure and commercially manage subcontractors.
• Monitor project performance and protect margins.
• Produce accurate commercial reports and CVRs.
• Work closely with project, procurement and finance teams.

Requirements

• Previous Quantity Surveying experience within construction, commercial fit-out or interiors.
• Strong knowledge of cost control, subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Good understanding of UK construction contracts.
• Excellent commercial awareness and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems.
