Job summary

Recruit 360 Limited is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong drylining background to lead the commercial management of drylining and interior fit-out projects in Barnsley. You will oversee costs from procurement through final account, maximise commercial opportunities and maintain client relationships.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Quantity Surveyor in construction with drylining & fit-out focus.
• Strong drylining knowledge including partitions, ceilings and plasterboard.
• Experience with valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Excellent communication and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial aspects of drylining projects from procurement to final account.
• Prepare interim valuations and payment applications.
• Measure, value and price variations and additional works.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
• Take-offs and review drawings and bills of quantities.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.

Quantity Surveyor - Drylining Background

We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong drylining background .This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded QS with experience in drylining and interior fit-out projects to play a key role in the financial management and successful delivery of projects.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of drylining packages, including metal stud partitions, plasterboarding, ceilings and associated internal finishes, with the ability to manage costs, maximise commercial opportunities and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of drylining projects from procurement through to final account.
• Prepare and submit interim valuations and applications for payment.
• Measure, value and price variations and additional works.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
• Undertake take-offs and review drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Negotiate with clients, main contractors and suppliers to achieve the best commercial outcomes.
• Attend site visits and commercial meetings as required.
• Work closely with contracts managers, site managers and operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry - Dryling & Fit Out.
• A strong background in drylining is essential.
• Good knowledge of drylining systems, including partitions, ceilings and plasterboard installations.
• Experience with valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication, organisational and numerical skills.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
