Job summary

YESERO LIMITED is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for its commercial team in the North West. The role focuses on drylining and internal fit-out, with responsibility from procurement through to final accounts.

The ideal candidate will manage subcontractor accounts, prepare valuations, and monitor costs and margins, working closely with the director and project teams across Lancashire sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Desirable experience in drylining, plastering, ceilings or internal fit-out.

Job description

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team, with specific experience within drylining and internal fit-out. This position is based at our offices in Rossendale, Lancashire with our sites located within the north west.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account, working closely with the Director, project management team, clients, main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial management of drylining and internal fit-out projects from tender through to completion.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of works and subcontract documentation.
• Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment and valuations.
• Managing variations, change orders and commercial notices.
• Pricing and negotiating variations and additional works.
• Managing subcontractor accounts, including on site measures, valuations, payments and final accounts.
• Preparing, reviewing and agreeing final accounts.
• Monitoring project costs, margins, forecasts and commercial performance.
• Assisting with project budgets, cost reports and cash-flow forecasting.
• Reviewing and challenging project costs to ensure works are delivered within budget.
• Procurement and management of subcontract packages and suppliers.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and supporting documentation.
• Identifying and managing commercial and contractual risks.Liaising with clients and main contractors to resolve commercial and contractual matters.
• Ensuring contractual notices and commercial correspondence are issued within the required timescales.
• Working closely with site and project teams to ensure that variations, progress and commercial matters are properly recorded and captured.
• Supporting the senior commercial team with general contractual and commercial matters.

Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Specific experience in drylining, plastering, ceilings or internal fit-out is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
• Good understanding of valuations, variations, change control and cost reporting.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Confident communication, negotiation and commercial management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other commercial/project management systems.
• A relevant Quantity Surveying or commercial qualification would be advantageous.
