Job summary

Vital Energi is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team supporting a variety of projects across the Scotland Region. The role involves financial management of contracts, working with Contracts/Project Managers and site teams to ensure contractual obligations are met.

Key duties include preparing cost reconciliations, handling payments, variations, and notices, and ensuring timely final accounts.

Qualifications

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent commercially related discipline required.
• Member of a recognised professional institution (e.g. MRICS) or similar.
• Knowledge of NEC Contracts and commercial awareness essential.
• Experience with Mechanical/Electrical services and/or utilities preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Support financial management of Contracts in partnership with Contracts/Project Managers.
• Vet contract documents to ensure alignment with Tender and negotiations.
• Create Commercial Risk Registers and monitor risk with mitigation.
• Issue enquiries for Major Plant & Equipment and Sub-Contract packages; negotiate prices/terms.
• Prepare and submit Applications for Payment and Invoices; manage payments.
• Measure, agree Variations, Loss & Expense, and/or Compensation Events.
• Maintain on-site records; issue notices per contract provisions.
• Prepare Cost Value Reconciliations and attend Contract Review Meetings.
• Authorise and code Suppliers’ and Sub-contractors’ invoices for payment.
• Measure, certify and agree Sub-Contractor valuations and final accounts.
