The CompanyA is a dynamic Main Contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality projects for a long list of blue-chip clients. Their sterling reputation as a contractor has allowed them to branch out into numerous markets including Civil Engineering & Infrastructure, Residential, Commercial & Retail, with project sizes ranging from £20m to £100m.

The company puts relationships at the heart of everything they do. This is reflected in their long-standing relationships with many subcontractors and a high level of repeat business with clients.

This role sits within the Civils arm of the business, which specializes in a range of Civil and Infrastructure projects, including earthworks, section 278 works, and rail freight.

The Role

The role involves either joining the commercial team working on a large civils project or being commercially responsible for delivering a slightly smaller project.

The focus will be on the financial and commercial aspects of the site. Typical responsibilities include:

1. Issuing and managing subcontract tender packages.
2. Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
3. Reviewing contract documents.
4. Managing and maintaining relationships with an established list of supply chain subcontractors.
5. Attending internal and external commercial review meetings.
6. Assisting with client valuation submissions and managing the variation account.
7. Managing subcontract accounts from procurement to final settlement.
8. Preparing and assisting with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works.
