Job summary

Fawkes & Reece is seeking a freelance Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team in the Maidstone area. You will support procurement, commercial management, and contractual processes across multiple projects, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.

The role involves cost control, CVR processes, monthly valuations, and cost reporting to ensure project viability and cost efficiency within a well-established main contractor.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Surveyor within main contracting or general construction.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, Health & Safety requirements, and commercial construction practices.
• Relevant construction or commercial qualification (e.g., RICS, CIOB).
• Strong stakeholder management skills with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
• IT literate, ideally with experience using COINS, Asta, or similar commercial systems.

Responsibilities

• Procurement & Cost Planning: Prepare and quantify materials, labour, and subcontractor requirements; Support procurement and subcontractor appointment processes; Ensure compliance with company commercial procedures and frameworks; Collaborate with project managers and site teams to ensure cost efficiency and project viability; Maintain adherence to project specifications, programmes, and quality standards.
