Job summary

Ian Williams Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Capital works contracts inCheltenham and the South Cotswolds. You will measure and prepare cost estimates, manage budgets, and build strong client and supplier relations to ensure timely project progress and profitable outcomes.

You'll work with the Contracts Manager to align productivity targets and milestones, taking responsibility for costs and cash flow while using COINS to produce weekly and monthly cost reports and valuations.

Qualifications

• Experience in quantity surveying for capital works.
• Proven ability to manage contracts up to £3 million.
• Strong cost estimation and reporting skills.
• Experience using COINS software.

Responsibilities

• Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting risks and solutions.
• Prepare budget cost value reconciliations, identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity targets and contract milestones are agreed and issued before contract start.
• Build strong client and supplier relations for proactive variation discussion and progress.
• Take purchase, credit and debtor responsibility using COINS to achieve expected cash flow.
• Complete and analyse weekly site reporting with cost information (labour rates, progress, budget variance, safety).
• Produce monthly contract valuations.
