Job summary

Cipher Search in Bristol is seeking a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join a major highways infrastructure programme. You will report into a Project Manager/Commercial Manager and support all commercial aspects of the project to protect financial performance and contractual position.

The role offers leadership in commercial activities on a key infrastructure scheme, with clear scope to progress within the delivery team and broader business growth in the region.

Qualifications

• Excellent working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Confident negotiator, able to challenge and influence stakeholders.
• Track record in subcontract procurement and commercial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management across highways works, safeguarding contractual and financial position.
• Manage procurement, subcontract tendering, evaluation and appointment.
• Prepare valuations, invoices, cost reports, forecasts and cash-flow.
• Oversee change control - identifying, valuing and recovering variations/compensation events.
• Administer subcontracts including payments, instructions, re-measurement and final accounts.
• Monitor cost, risk and opportunity to drive commercial efficiency.

Quantity Surveyor – Major Highways Infrastructure | Bristol

A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join the delivery team on a major highways infrastructure programme in the Bristol region.

Reporting into a Project Manager/Commercial Manager, you'll support all commercial aspects of your projects, protecting financial performance and contractual position while building strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead commercial management across highways works, safeguarding contractual and financial position
• Manage procurement, subcontract tendering, evaluation and appointment
