Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London in Bristol is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-regarded regional main contractor. You will manage projects independently or alongside a Senior Quantity Surveyor on more complex schemes, with a strong focus on education, healthcare, commercial and heritage sectors.

The role requires a BSc Quantity Surveying or an HNC, experience from pre-construction to final account, and proficiency with JCT/NEC contracts.

• Hold a BSc Quantity Surveying or HNC.
• Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to final account.
• Proficient in administering JCT and NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Work with the pre-construction team on 2-stage tenders.
• Oversee procurement and management of sub-contractor packages.
• Deal with final accounts and any disputes.
• Liaise with client teams.
• Mentor junior surveyors and support their development.

Quantity Surveyor

We have an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well regarded regional main contractor based in Bristol. The business operates out of several regional offices across the South, undertaking projects across a diverse portfolio including education, healthcare, commercial and heritage valuing typically up to £15mil.

As a result of continued growth in the region, they're now looking to expand the commercial team with an additional Quantity Surveyor.

About the role of Quantity Surveyor

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for either managing your own projects or will work alongside a Senior Quantity Surveyor on larger or more complex schemes.

Key Responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor

• Work alongside pre-construction team on any 2-stage tenders
• Oversee the projects procurement / management of sub-contractor packages
• Deal with final accounts / any dispute resolution that may arise
• Liaise with the clients teams
• Mentor junior members of the Surveying team and be involved in their professional development

Key Requirements for this Quantity Surveyor role

• Hold a BSc Quantity Surveying or HNC
• Have experience managing projects from pre-construction through to final account
• Be proficient in administering various forms of contract including JCT and NEC
• Must live in a commutable location to Bristol and be happy to visit office and site as required
• MUST have the full right to work in the UK
