Foresight Search Ltd is advertising a Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering / Power, based in Avonmouth, Bristol, with a salary of around £40,000 - £45,000 plus package. The role sits within a major power framework and requires 3-5 years' post-graduate experience.

You will join an established commercial team, handling commercial management from early stages to final accounts, valuations, sub-contractor procurement, cost reporting and contract support on civil projects.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• NEC contract experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Power sector experience is not required.

Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering / Power

Location: Avonmouth, Bristol

Quantity Surveyor - The Company

An excellent opportunity to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering works as part of a long‑term framework for one of the UK's leading power companies.

The business has a strong pipeline of secured work across the region and is looking to strengthen its commercial team with an ambitious Quantity Surveyor based from its Avonmouth operation.

This would particularly suit a Quantity Surveyor with around 3-5 years' post‑graduate experience who is looking to develop their career within civil engineering and gain exposure to a major infrastructure framework.

Previous power or utilities experience is not essential. More important is a good grounding in Quantity Surveying, commercial awareness and a genuinely proactive attitude.

Quantity Surveyor - The Role

Working as part of an established commercial and operational team, you will provide commercial support across a range of civil engineering projects delivered under the framework.

• Commercial management of projects from initial stages through to final account
• Preparation and submission of valuations and applications for payment
• Subcontractor procurement, management and payments
• Cost reporting, forecasting and monitoring project performance
• Identifying and managing variations and changes
• Supporting project teams with commercial and contractual matters
• Measurement and preparation of bills/quantities where required
• Maintaining accurate commercial records
• Working closely with operational teams and the client
• Assisting with final accounts and project close‑out

Quantity Surveyor - The Person

We are looking for someone who is keen to develop rather than necessarily the finished article.

• Around 3-5 years' post‑graduate Quantity Surveying experience
• Experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or a related contracting environment preferred
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• NEC contract experience would be advantageous but is not essential
• Power sector experience is not required
• Commercially aware with a good understanding of core QS responsibilities
• Confident communicator able to build relationships with clients and project teams
• Keen, enthusiastic and willing to take ownership
• Ambitious to continue developing technically and commercially
