Job summary

Howells Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Social Housing retrofit and decarbonisation projects across West Midlands/Herefordshire. You will manage costs, procurement, and CVR processes on long-term planned maintenance schemes.

You will oversee subcontractor payments, value-for-money assessments, and maintain strong client relationships while delivering projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree or other technical qualification is essential.
• Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Proven track record delivering contracts on time and within budget.
• Contractual awareness.
• Negotiating, communication & presentation skills.
• Knowledge of Supply Chain management.
• RICS / CIOB qualification - Preferred.
• Retrofit / Decarb Experience.

Responsibilities

• Control project expenditure and cost/value reporting.
• On-boarding of Sub contractors/suppliers and payment processes.
• Attend project and company meetings and maintain cash flow management.
• Maintain and develop client relationships and ensure value for money.

Quantity Surveyor - Retrofit Projects / Decarbonisation (Social Housing)
West Midlands/Herefordshire
Full-Time, Permanent position
Salary: Up to £66K + Car allowance & Benefits

We are working with a leading Social Housing contractor to recruit an experienced and successful Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the West Midlands/Herefordshire region, working on a long-term Planned Maintenance and Decarbonisation projects.

We are looking for a proven commercial professional with experience in social housing refurbishment programmes delivering Cavity Wall Insultation, Windows and doors, Solar PV, Air source heat pumps. You will have a comprehensive commercial understanding of subcontractor procurement and cost management, the CVR process as well as excellent client relationship skills.

As the Quantity Surveyor for our client, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Control all expenditure
• Reconcile cost/value reports & profit forecasts
• On-boarding of Sub contractors/suppliers
• Ensuring value for money & financial assessments
• Manage day to day cost control & monitoring & reporting
• Process Sub contractor requests for payment via application & invoice
• Attend project & company related meetings
• Ensure timely cash flow management
• Maintain & develop professional relationships with clients & customers

Essential Quantity Surveyor Experience:

• Degree or other technical qualification
