Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the Commercial and Project Management teams from our Humber office. You will manage contract administration, cost data, and governance while engaging with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure commercial alignment on a range of infrastructure projects.

Ideally you have NEC3/4 experience, strong Excel skills, and a proactive approach to risk management.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in relevant discipline or equivalent experience in commercial /contract management.
• Experience in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Contract Management.
• Working knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC3/4.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide Quantity Surveying support across projects to ensure robust cost management and commercial governance.

Job description

To provide Quantity Surveying support across a range of projects delivered from our Humber office, ensuring robust cost management, contract administration, and commercial governance. As a Quantity Surveyor, you would be responsible for supporting the Commercial and Project Management teams in delivering effective Contract Management and maintaining relationships with Clients, Contractors/Subcontractors, Suppliers or Service Providers for the relevant contracts. This would include the administration of the contract Risk Register, attending Risk Reduction and other meetings, managing the Early Warning Notice and Compensation Event processes and contract administration through various applications (CEMAR / FastDraft / Digital Beehive). All contracts will be managed in accordance with Amentum Management System and procedures for contract management. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance to procedures and Contract Terms and Conditions to secure delivery with certainty.,

• A high emphasis on change management
• Support cost estimation, budgeting, and forecasting activities across a variety of utilities / infrastructure projects.
• Administer contracts (typically NEC3/4 with a number of bespoke client contracts) including change control, payment applications, and final accounts.
• Support procurement and tendering processes with accurate cost data and commercial input.
• Monitor and report on project financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Engage with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure commercial alignment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned in cost and contract management.
  Degree level qualification in relevant discipline or equivalent experience in commercial /contract management
• Some previous Quantity Surveying or Commercial Contract Management work experience.
• Working knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally with some exposure to the NEC suite of contracts.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate confidently and work well under pressure
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Must be proficient in MS Office applications - especially MS Excel.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience in utilities / infrastructure sector.
• Knowledge of sustainability and social value in commercial delivery.
• Proficiency in cost management tools and digital systems.
• Experience of using CEMAR / FastDraft or similar
• Experience managing change control on construction contracts.
