Job summary

Morgan Jones is seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their busy commercial team in Maidstone, taking ownership of post-contract commercial management for mechanical and electrical packages and ensuring contractual compliance and commercial success.

You will work closely with project teams, engineers and subcontractors, providing commercial expertise from contract award through to final account and supporting ongoing professional development and career progression.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline.
• Previous Quantity Surveying experience within M&E or Building Services.
• Strong commercial management experience across live projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage cost planning, budget control and financial forecasting.
• Prepare valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Negotiate contracts, variations and commercial agreements.
• Oversee change management and variation control.
• Monitor project costs and CVR performance.
• Lead subcontractor procurement and contract awards.
• Maintain accurate commercial documentation and records.
• Provide commercial insight to support project performance.
• Ensure compliance with contractual and industry requirements.

The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a busy commercial team. You will take ownership of the post-contract commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages across a varied project portfolio, ensuring commercial success and contractual compliance. Working closely with project teams, engineers, subcontractors and stakeholders, you will provide commercial expertise from contract award through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage cost planning, budget control and financial forecasting

Skills & Experience

• Previous Quantity Surveying experience within M&E or Building Services
• Strong commercial management experience across live projects
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Knowledge of tendering, estimating and procurement processes
• Understanding of JCT and NEC contract forms
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Competent user of Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently and within project teams
