Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading design and build provider in the UK water sector. This role is based in North London with a permanent contract and hybrid working, offering an attractive salary and comprehensive benefits.

You will prepare payment applications, monitor costs, and produce monthly reports while managing subcontractor relationships. A degree in QS and active RICS/APC progression are expected, with prior main contractor exposure advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of working as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• RICS or studying for APC.
• Experience working with a main contractor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare applications for payment, valuations and cost/value reconciliations.
• Monitor project costs and maintain accurate forecasting.
• Produce monthly commercial reports covering value, cost, profit/loss and cash flow.
• Manage supply chain relationships and commercial activities.
• Support Risk and Value Management processes with regular reviews with the project team.
• Administer contracts using relevant contractual forms, budgetary controls and software.
• Prepare subcontract enquiries, negotiate terms and set up subcontract agreements.
• Ensure all contractual documentation and notifications are maintained and up to date.
• Escalate safety risks or concerns to site management promptly.
• Maintain regular communication with site teams, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Provide contractual and commercial advice to the site team as required.
