Job summary

OUTSOURCE CONSTRUCTION LTD in Croydon, Greater London, seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of civil engineering, highways and public realm projects.

You will work with project teams to ensure budgets, forecasts and cash flow are kept on track, with strong NEC contract administration and stakeholder liaison.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering, highways or infrastructure.

Location: Croydon, Greater London

Salary: Up to £65,000 + Benefits Package

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established and growing business delivering civil engineering, highways and public realm projects across South London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with a background in civil engineering infrastructure and a strong understanding of NEC forms of contract.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects, working closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for civil engineering, highways and public realm projects.
• Manage project costs, budgets, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Administer and manage NEC contracts, including contractual notices, compensation events and early warnings.
• Prepare, submit and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and account reconciliations.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Monitor project expenditure, cash flow and cost variations.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and operational teams.
• Ensure contractual compliance and effective commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Attend commercial and progress meetings with clients and subcontractors.
• Support the delivery of projects within agreed budgets and commercial targets.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, highways or infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge and experience of NEC forms of contract – essential.
• Experience managing the commercial aspects of construction or infrastructure projects.
• A good understanding of subcontractor procurement and commercial management.
• Experience with valuations, variations, forecasting and final accounts.
• Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple commercial priorities.
• A proactive and commercially focused approach.

A relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management would be advantageous.
