Job summary

Thorn Baker Group is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team on prestigious prime residential projects. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of commercial management from pre-construction through final account and ensure robust cost control across multiple schemes.

You will handle cost planning, forecasting, subcontractor procurement, payments and valuations, produce monthly cost reports, administer JCT contracts, and manage change

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Experience working for a main contractor.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Experience within high-end or prime residential construction advantageous.

Responsibilities

A leading specialist contractor delivering luxury residential construction projects is looking to appoint an experiencedQuantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on prestigious high-end residential developments, taking ownership of the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring robust commercial control across multiple projects, including:

• Cost planning, forecasting and financial reporting
• Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and valuations
• Producing monthly valuations and cost reports
• Administration of JCT contracts
• Managing change events, risks and opportunities
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and project teams
• Ensuring projects remain commercially successful and within budget

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor
• Experience working for a main contractor
• Strong understanding of JCT contract forms
• Excellent commercial, negotiation and communication skills
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Experience within high-end or prime residential construction would be highly advantageous
