Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor focused on highways infrastructure across the East Midlands. The role covers commercial ownership of package procurement, contract administration, and cost reporting on major schemes.

You will hold a recognised degree or HNC in QS/related field and have autonomous delivery experience in civil engineering or highways, with strong NEC contract knowledge and commercial software proficiency.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Civil Engineering.
• Autonomous Quantity Surveyor delivering packages within civil engineering or highways.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (Options A/C), change control, CVRs, and subcontract procurement.
• Strong commercial acumen and familiarity with commercial management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial packages on major highways schemes, including pavement works, surfacing, drainage, and temporary traffic management.
• Administer subcontract accounts from tender enquiry and order placement through to monthly payment valuations and final accounts.
• Produce monthly Cost Value Reports (CVRs), cash flow forecasts, and commercial risk registers alongside site leaders.
• Manage client change control, substantiating Early Warnings and Compensation Events under NEC contract mechanisms.

About this Role

This Quantity Surveyor position offers an outstanding opportunity to join a major Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering landmark highways infrastructure across the East Midlands. Based on a major national highways framework, you will take commercial ownership of package procurement, contract administration, and cost reporting.

About You
