Quantity Surveyor - Prime Residential

Location: Guildford / Surrey

Job Type: Permanent | Full-time

Hours: 8am - 5pm

Salary: Competitive

The Opportunity

Pace Recruitment is working with a highly regarded specialist contractor delivering prestigious residential projects across Surrey and the surrounding areas.

The business has an excellent reputation for craftsmanship and quality, working on substantial private homes, heritage properties and complex renovation projects.

They are now looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Country division and take responsibility for the commercial delivery of projects from pre-construction through to final account.

The Role

This is a hands-on commercial position where you'll work closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered successfully and commercially.

You'll be responsible for managing costs, forecasting and financial reporting, including monthly CVRs, valuations, cash flow and commercial reviews. You'll also oversee the administration of the main contract, variations and claims, while managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.

The role will involve attending site meetings, providing commercial advice, reviewing contract documentation and drawings, and ensuring changes and commercial matters are accurately recorded and communicated.

You’ll also have responsibility for tendering and procurement, including subcontractor pre-qualification and package procurement, while maintaining strong relationships with key supply-chain partners.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who has worked on substantial prime or high-end residential projects, ideally involving country homes, heritage properties or listed buildings.

You’ll need a strong understanding of JCT contracts, cost management and commercial reporting, together with the ability to manage the complete commercial lifecycle of a project.

Experience working with high-net-worth clients or their representatives would be advantageous, as would familiarity with Procore, Excel and Bluebeam.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone commercially astute who takes a proactive, solution-focused approach and is comfortable working collaboratively with project teams.

What’s on Offer

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary alongside a strong benefits package, including:

  • Gym and wellness membership
  • Company pension contribution
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
  • Flexible benefits and salary-sacrifice options
  • Professional development and career progression
