Job summary

Borne Resourcing Limited are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for a Surrey-based role with a respected London main contractor. You will manage commercial activities from procurement through final account across projects up to £5m, with a focus on accurate measurements and value across refurbishment and new build work.

The role blends office-based work with occasional site visits, requires strong numeracy, attention to drawings detail, and an eagerness to contribute to estimating alongside

Qualifications

• Quantity Surveyor with main contractor experience.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability.
• Methodical and detail-focused when working through drawings.
• Good measurement and take-off skills.
• Interest in estimating alongside traditional Quantity Surveying.
• Adaptable and eager to learn.
• Refurbishment experience would be beneficial but not essential.
• Candidates from a new-build background will also be considered.

Quantity Surveyor | Main Contractor | High-end resi | Surrey | Permanent

I'm working with an established Surrey main contractor who are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, working across a range of projects throughout London.

Turning over circa £13m-£15m, they deliver projects up to £5m and are looking for a QS who is particularly strong numerically, enjoys getting into the detail of drawings and is comfortable supporting both the commercial and estimating sides of the business.

The Role

• Commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and project information
• Measurement and take-offs
• Assisting with estimating and tender preparation
• Procurement and management of subcontract packages
• Valuations, variations and subcontractor payments
• Cost reporting and commercial management
• Predominantly office based with site visits as required

Projects

• Projects across London
• Contract values up to £5m
• Refurbishment and new build
• Working across projects from pre-construction through to completion
