Job summary

VGC in London is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of rail infrastructure projects. The role focuses on the commercial management of two bridge replacement schemes and the close-out of Stage 1 design contracts under NEC contracts.

You will prepare cost forecasts, valuations, compensation events, and cost reporting while liaising with project teams, design consultants, contractors and stakeholders to ensure commercial objectives are met.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within rail, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC4 Option C contracts (NEC3 experience considered).
• Experience managing compensation events, change control and commercial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of rail infrastructure projects from delivery through to completion.
• Take ownership of the commercial management of the bridge replacement schemes.
• Support the close-out and final account settlement of Stage 1 design contracts.
• Administer and manage contracts under NEC4 Option C (NEC3 experience will also be considered).
• Prepare and manage cost forecasts, valuations, compensation events and cost reporting.
• Monitor project expenditure and ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise with project teams, design consultants, contractors and key stakeholders to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
• Review, negotiate and agree subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
• Provide timely commercial advice and reporting to the wider project team and senior management.

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a portfolio of rail infrastructure projects . The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of two key rail bridge replacement projects while also assisting in the close-out of Stage 1 design contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional with strong rail and infrastructure experience, working within a collaborative project environment and under NEC contracts.
