YOKE LTD, a Tier 1 building contractor, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor at Senior level to join its commercial team in Exeter. You will oversee financial and contractual management for multimillion-pound projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, with experience in health or education sectors, and a solid grasp of JCT and NEC contracts.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Experience in health and education sectors.
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Proven cost management, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence; RICS qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
• Conduct cost analysis and financial risk assessments.
• Administer contracts (JCT/NEC) and ensure compliance.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers for cost-effective deals.
• Prepare interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Collaborate with project teams to monitor progress and address commercial challenges.
• Deliver accurate cost reporting and forecasting to senior management.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

The Role

The company is seeking a skilled QS, either at project surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor level, to join its friendly and professional commercial team in Exeter. Your new role will involve overseeing the financial and contractual management of multimillion pound projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to exceptional standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts

• Conducting cost analysis and financial risk assessments

• Administering contracts, including JCT and NEC forms, ensuring full compliance

• Negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to secure cost‑effective agreements

• Prepareing interim valuations, variations, and final accounts

• Collaborating with project teams to monitor progress and address commercial challenges

• Delivering accurate cost reporting and forecasting to senior management

• Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations

About the Candidate

• Ideally you'll hold or be working towards a degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

• Experience in commercial project delivery sectors such as health and education

• Possess strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts

• Exhibit strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

• Proficient in in cost management software

• Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Hold a full UK driving licence

• Have RICS qualification or be actively working towards it (desirable)
